Tokyo’s beloved life-size Unicorn Gundam statue is scheduled to be removed this August, after 8 years and 11 months since its installation.
Located on the artificial island Odaiba, the 19.7-meter statue was first displayed in 2017 and has become a popular attraction for tourists and anime fans.
To mark its closure, the statue will be displayed with new decorations until August. Various events are also expected to be held.
No official reason regarding the closure has been announced.
Prior to this statue, another Gundam was displayed in Odaiba until it was removed in 2017.
