DUBAI: The 24th Detective Conan movie titled “Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet” will be released in 22 countries outside of Japan simultaneously including GCC countries like the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia.
This is the first time in the history of the Detective Conan franchise to have a global simultaneous movie release where the previous movies in the franchise would open overseas several months after the Japanese release.
Commemoration of this special announcement, TOHO have released the opening video for the movie featuring the voice actors of Shinichi Kudo & Conan Edogawa in Japanese, English, Korean, German, and Chinese with the theme “detectives on the horizon.”
“Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet” centers on the FBI agent Shuichi Akai, his younger brother and professional shōgi player Shukichi Haneda, his younger sister and high school detective Masumi Sera, his mother Mary Sera, and Conan Edogawa himself.
In the movie’s story, Japan is about to celebrate the world’s largest sports festival, “WSG-World Sports Games,” in Tokyo. In line with the opening ceremony, it is announced that the world’s first “Vacuum Superconducting Linear” train, boasting a maximum speed of 1,000 km/h which combined all of Japan’s technologies, will be opened to the public between Shin-Nagoya Station and Shibahama Station and established in Tokyo.
As the world’s attention is garnered, an incident occurs at a party venue where famous tournament sponsors are gathered, leading to an abnormal situation where top dogs of companies are kidnapped one after another. Behind the scenes are Shuichi Akai who monitors the incident, and the FBI who waits for orders from Akai.
The movie was slated to open on April 17 last year, but was delayed from its original date due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. “Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet” will be open on April 16 this year.
