Leaked files show Nintendo’s Game Boy & Game Boy Advance emulators

DUBAI: A Game Boy and Game Boy Advance emulator for Nintendo’s Switch Online service has been leaked.

The files were first found on imageboard website 4Chan and showed two emulators currently in development by Nintendo Europe Research and Development. One of the emulators is called Hioyo and the other named Sloop.

Hioyo is believed to be the emulator for the classic Game Boy while Sloop for the Game Boy Advance.

According to one Twitter user, the systems are still in progress, they are functional. Titles such as The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, Metroid Fusion, Mega Man Battle Network 2, and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones are all playable on the Switch.

Nintendo has not commented on the leaks.
