ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX 2022) celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and the UAE, with Japan’s Ambassador ISOMATA Akio paying a visit to the exhibition.

During his visit to ADIHEX, the ambassador toured a number of local and international pavilions and stated, “I am thrilled to be here in this magnificent year.”

Isomata said that he was impressed by how the arts, traditions and culture have been brought together under one roof, and he remarked that Japan and the UAE have cultural and traditional similarities, such as hospitality, generosity, falconry and some more.

Dr. Isao Takahashi, Executive Officer of INPEX, said: “This year is significant for us, and the feedback we have received so far has been just incredible. We are thrilled to present our falconers and to share our culture and heritage with audiences in the UAE.”

He added that the main goal was “to promote Japanese traditional falconry and other traditions and cultures in order to preserve and strengthen the friendly relationship between the UAE and Japan by creating a cultural exchange bridge.”

The UAE and Japan have had close ties for over fifty years. However, over the years, their collaboration has evolved into a more sophisticated strategic alliance.

In May of 1972, the first diplomatic links between the two nations were formed. Japan is among the first nations to establish diplomatic relations with the UAE. Since then, these historic relationships have continued to develop, resulting in enormous development and success for both parties.

Officials of the two nations are eager to extend and deepen their collaboration in order to achieve a better future. Strong ties exist between the two nations in a variety of fields, including culture and the arts, traditional and renewable energy, technology, space initiatives, and scientific and intellectual interaction.

ADIHEX, the region’s largest event focused on the preservation of cultural heritage at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), which was organized by the Emirates Falconers Club was held from Sept. 26 to Oct. 2.

The exhibition is considered to be the biggest of its type in the Middle East and Africa, and aims to strengthen the connection between the two countries and further develop and deepen it in order to more effectively meet their shared ambitions through intercultural dialogue.
