RIYADH: The UAE chapter of Ikebana Ohara School participated in a workshop at the Boulevard World Zone operated by Riyadh Season 2022, especially Anime Town Japan, the world’s largest anime town that recreates tourist spots from all over Japan.

The Ohara school was founded by Unshin Ohara in the latter half of the 19th century when Japan opened to the world. At that time, Western flowers were beginning to gain popularity.

Currently, under the guidance of Hiroki Ohara, the 5th Iemoto (Headmaster), it continues to prosper, with 146 chapters and study groups  in Japan including Tokyo and Osaka, over 100 overseas including UAE chapter, and over 300,000 members worldwide.

Amani Al Shehhi, an instructor at Ikebana Ohara School, who was surprised by the number of participants in this workshop, told Arab News Japan, “The organizers of the Riyadh Season participated in the Japanese cultural experience including Ikebana. , I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the participants who participated in the Ikebana workshop. I have received many ideas for the future from the many people who participated in the Ikebana workshop. I would also like to hold a workshop in Saudi Arabia again and meet all of you.”
