DUBAI: Nippon Aircraft Supply Co. Ltd (NAS) said in a statement on Friday that it will cut ties with Israeli company Elbit Systems by the end of the month, amid boycotts around Japan calling for the end of Israel’s war on Gaza.

NAS said it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Israeli company in March last year.

The statement on NAS’ official website said: “The MoU signed between Israel’s ELBIT and our company in March 2023 will be completed by the end of February 2024.”

This comes after Itochu Corp. on Feb. 5 said it will suspend its cooperation with Elbit Systems by the end of February.

A solidarity protest was organized on Friday by ‘Students and Youths for Palestine’ in Tokyo, in front of NAS’ head office.

Similar protests were also organized on the same day in Osaka and Nagoya, as protestors seek to apply more pressure on companies who continue to work with Elbit Systems.
