Saudi Arabia provided biggest share of Japan’s oil needs in April

TOKYO: Saudi Arabia ranked first in Japan’s oil providers’ list in April 2020 with 30.061 million barrels or 36.3% of the total crude imports according to the Agency of Energy and Natural Resource in Tokyo.

In April, Japan imported from UAE 25.182 million barrels or 30.4% of the total, while Kuwait provided 9.571 million barrels or 11.6%.

Oil imports from Qatar accounted for 6.145 million barrels or 7.4%.

Japan Imported from Iraq 2.087 million barrels or 2.5% and from Russia 1.398 million barrels or 1.7%.

Arab oil accounted for 75.030 million barrels providing 90.6%, of Japan’s petroleum needs in April.

Japan’s total crude oil imports in that month amounted to 82.828 million barrels, the agency said.
