Japan’s extensive history paves the way for many landmarks in the country. The Palace Hotel in Tokyo is located near the Imperial Palace, a site which the hotel has occupied for almost a century.

Renovated in 2012, the Palace Hotel has over 200 rooms and overlooks the East Gardens of the Emperor’s gated palace.

A room on higher floors on the west side of the hotel building would display a clearer view to visitors.

Facilities such as Tokyo’s Evian Spa and ten restaurants; one of which is called Sushi Kanesaka that operates under popular Chef Shinji Kanesaka.

The Palace Hotel also includes artworks created by famous Japanese artists in their hallways.

The hotel first opened in October 1961 and was the first of the new wave of modern hotels in Tokyo.

According to the hotel’s website, the unconventional use of traditional materials earned it an Architectural Industry Association Prize in 1963.
