The indoor theme park Sanrio Puroland, also known as Hello Kitty Land, located in Tama New Town, Tokyo, Japan, released a video during their closure due to coronavirus on March 22  telling fans that “Even though we’re closed…we’re here for you.”

As family-friendly theme parks and museums close nationwide close due to the spread of coronavirus, the closure Puroland has been extended until an unspecified date in April due to a new governmental ordinance.

Despite such circumstances, the theme park that usually attracts over one million visitors per year, ensures the public that its staff are highly committed to undertaking necessary measures to prepare to happily greet visitors once again.

The video released on Puroland’s official YouTube channel features a rare behind-the-scenes compilation of the different activity sectors at the park.

Beginning with the sound of rain spattering on deserted streets in front of the theme park’s building, the video explores various scenes of the park, portraying a gloomy atmosphere caused by the suspension of visitors.

This is followed by scenes from inside the theme park such as entry gates, which are usually bustling with families, completely empty and dark, maintenance processes for rides, and Hello Kitty perfecting her step work on an empty stage.

The video ends with a compilation of videos of the staff cleaning every inch of the facilities, preceded by a message to the public informing them of their solidarity with them during this period.
