In a unique collaboration, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the multi award-winning restaurant BOCA, organized an exclusive dinner where it featured a special menu by Chef Patricia Roig, inspired by her trip to Japan.

The dinner was attended by The Consul-General of Japan in Dubai, IMANISHI Jun and other guests.

For the second year running, JETRO has sponsored one of Dubai’s star chefs to travel to Japan on a trip of discovery. To experience the outstanding flavors, quality, and variety of Japanese ingredients right at the source.

Chef Patricia travelled through the pristine landscapes of Northern Japan, exploring the most exquisite ingredients from land and sea, tasting new exciting flavors, meeting expert fishermen and farmers, and seeing how their dedication to sustainability ensures the highest quality.

Chef Patricia has crafted an incredible menu that infuses the phenomenal produce of Japan with her signature Spanish flair. Her vibrant flavors and creative combinations are sure to thrill and delight.

A representative of JETRO Dubai said: “We have seen the points of the event as the great combination of both the new ingredients like Shirako or Kinki and the new perspective of existing ingredients like AOMORI scallops (extension of the Hokkaido scallops). And happy to see almost all participants satisfying.”

JETRO or the Japan External Trade Organization is a semi- government organization that aims to promote trade between Japan and the world. JETRO is introducing some amazing small Japanese companies to this market. One of JETRO’s biggest activities is bringing so many Japanese companies to Gulfood every year, including those in the Japanese Seafood pavilion and Japanese National Pavilion.
