Japanese Salon Nadeshiko, which translates to mean a small wild flower native to Japan symbolic of pure, feminine beauty– brings a selection of Japanese hair treatments, and products to Dubai, while still satisfying customers with an array of other styling services.

The salon, which launched in May 2013, founded by Ng jing de Benjamin and Yumi Yakushijin, was an unexpected business venture, but was launched with the intention of offering an “Asian style international salon” in Dubai.

Nestled in one of Dubai’s skyscrapers in the DIFC area, the salon maintains a minimalist yet welcoming feel.

The salon’s owners ensure that “we welcome all clients into our salon. We have both men and women too; it’s very mixed!”

For the comfort of all customers, the women’s sections of the salon is separated from the men’s section using a partition and can be accessed from a different door on the opposite end of the salon.

The salon’s owners touched on the kind of Japanese styling methods that are offered.

“We mainly offer hair services and specialize in Japanese straight perms and digital perms (a perm that uses hot rods with the temperature regulated by a machine with a digital display),” Yakushijin said.

In addition to that, the salon offers various treatments including Mucota, which Yakushijin describes as “a hair treatment for damaged hair” using a “3 step process that moisturizes the hair and also repairs the hair cuticle layers so that it can retain more of the treatment molecules for a longer period of time.”

The salon aims to maintain the health of the hair by using less invasive methods of styling and by carefully assessing the type of hair to appropriately determine what treatment is needed.

“All our stylists are highly trained and have great knowledge of the use of chemical treatments. They know what is needed for different hair types; The hair becomes much healthier after the treatments have been done,” she told Arab News Japan.

Augmenting to the treatment, the staff at Salon Nadeshiko make sure to keep a record of what services are given to each client to ensure they receive notable results

“With our chemical and colour services we make sure that the hair is not damaged in the process and kept healthy and strong. We keep a record of everything we do to our client’s hair and by them coming back regularly their hair becomes much stronger after just a few appointments,” Yakushijin told Arab News Japan.

The salon also offers a range of hair, and skin care Japanese products, one being Aquagold—recognized for their use of a special water typically deemed beneficial in keeping skin and hair moist and soft.
