RIYADH: Manga Arabia, the publication launched by Saudi Research & Media Group (SRMG) has opened an entertainment booth at Boulevard Riyadh City (BLVD RUH City), one of the largest zones in Riyadh Season 2021, which will run for two weeks from December 23.

The opening follows the launch of phase two of the magazine that was marked by the release of Manga Arabia Kids” with content catering to the 10–15-year-old age group.

First launched earlier this year, Manga Arabia has gained popularity within the span of a few months. The publication officially began in September, and the stories consist of simple Arabic expressions found in Saudi Arabia, paired with illustrations in the popular Japanese Manga art style.

The newly launched Youth Edition features local Arabic work, titled Wanderers, with themes that include self-discovery, and the importance of unwavering trust in friendships and loyalty.

The magazine also includes “LONG LIVE THE DEAD” another piece of Arabic work that incorporates important messages to its readers, along with stressing the importance of never giving up during hardship, as well as teaching the qualities of bravery and reliability.

Arabic versions of popular Japanese works have also been translated by the Manga Arabia team, including Attack on Titan, Vinland Saga, Haikyuu, and Ajin, can also be found at the magazine’s booth.

In partnership with SRMG, Manga Arabia offers free copies in print to the public, as well as a digital application offering free electronic editions of both publications each month. The publication’s target audience has been estimated at approximately 180 million.

The magazine also offers entertaining cultural content, including templates and events, relating to popular Japanese works translated in Arabic, with the goal of increasing readership among the 10–15-year-old age group, as well as those 16 and above by offering new experiences.

Manga comics are widely popular both in Japan, where the market is reportedly worth a remarkable 5.77 billion dollars. There has also been a growth in popularity of Japanese Manga and Anime in the rest of the world, specifically the MENA region, over the last two decades. where

The sponsors of Manga Arabia noticed the significant influence Japanese Manga and Anime has on the Arabic society, and are seeking to develop original and meaningful content in Arabic inspired by Arab culture. In doing so, they hope to publish local stories that provide value to society.
