DUBAI: Lebanese dance group Mayyas, who won season 17 of “America’s Got Talent” in September, will perform in Dubai on Oct. 21.

Their performance, at The Pointe in Palm Jumeriah, will be their first regional show outside of Lebanon.

The troupe will be performing two five-minute routines on the east and west promenades, which will also be projected on screens across the venue.

Mayyas’s show will be part of the Recognizing Emerging Local Musicians (Relm) Fest, a music festival — in partnership with Anghami and TikTok — that will take place from Oct. 21-23 at The Pointe.

The festival will feature other artists including Lebanese indie-pop band Adonis, Jordanian rock group Jadal, Egyptian rock band Massar Egbari, Palestinian singer Noel Kharman, French Lebanese music sensation Lea Makhoul, and Iraqi-Belgian performer Sandra Sahi.

Chief assets officer at Nakheel, Omar Khoory, said in a statement: “The music landscape in the UAE and the region is growing immensely and demands a platform that promotes this remarkable talent and also nurtures it to success.”

“At Nakheel, we have joined forces with like-minded partners Anghami and TikTok, to champion rising stars and provide them with the means to gain visibility, grow and take their musical career to the next level.”

Last month, Mayyas took home the $1 million grand prize after winning “America’s Got Talent.”

“We can’t believe what’s happening,” group member Marcel Assal told Arab News after the show. “We can’t believe what we’ve achieved — giving so much energy, leaving our work and education, dedicating our time to training every day to be here to represent our country, and this is what we were looking for.”
