DUBAI: A collaboration between French fashion brand, Louis Vuitton, and the renowned Japanese contemporary artist, KUSAMA Yayoi, resulted in an all-new pop-up store in Tokyo which will be opened until 22nd of Jan.

The pop-up store is located in Harajuku, Tokyo and has a life size sculpture of KUSAMA wearing a black and yellow polka dot shirt and her distinct red hair.

The 93-year-old artist is famous for her polka dot designs, often referred to as the princess of polka dots.

Inside the space is a massive Louis Vuitton logo made from mirrored balls to form its signature iconography LV.

The store’s walls, floor, and ceiling are all covered with black, yellow, and white polka dot design along with the mannequins’ outfits, which are also polka dot colourful designs.

The collaboration merges the French house designs with the Japanese million-dollar brush stroke arts.

The Japanese artist also showed presence on the Louis Vuitton Champs-Élysées flagship store in Paris.

KUSAMA’s colourful polka dots are all over the Art Déco building as well as a giant sculpture of the artist leaning on the top left of the building as if placing the white dots to complete the design.
