TOKYO: The second Saudi Arabia Roadshow was held in Tokyo on May 25 with fifteen Saudi Arabian partner companies participating to show “the hidden attractions” of the Kingdom.

In 2019, Saudi Arabia promoted their tourist attractions in 49 countries. However, the Japanese market is extremely important as it will help Saudi to reach 100 million international and domestic visitors by 2030, Alhasan Aldabbagh, APAC President of Saudi Arabia Tourism Board said in a statement.

“Japan is an important partner in promoting Saudi Arabia as the world’s largest new destination. And we are committed to providing the tools and resources your business needs,” he said.

Aldabbagh said the Saudi Tourism Board opened an office in Tokyo in 2021 to oversee the operations of the Saudi Arabian Tourism Authority (STA).

He added that an important task for STA is to support the Japanese partners in developing Saudi Arabian tour products and to provide the latest information on tourism in Saudi Arabia. This will be a handbook intended to extend knowledge about the country, thereby supporting tour companies in Japan to create the most suitable and innovative packaging for their customers.

In his welcoming remarks at a gala reception held after the show and attended by Japanese officials from travel and tourism industry, Eyad Jan, Director of the Trade Markets Northeast Asia thanked the audience for their trust, enthusiasm and continued support and added that he sincerely hoped to have a long and fruitful relationship with Japan to make Saudi Arabia a global destination.
