TOKYO: North Korea has attacked the United States and South Korea for “infringements of sovereignty” from “hostile military reconnaissance acts.”

A statement issued in the name of Kim Gan-il, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, accused “the US and the Korean puppet air force of blatantly strengthening hostile aerial reconnaissance activities against our Republic.”

Kim said the US and South Korea used aircraft and drones for aerial reconnaissance that was “a serious violation of rights and safety.”

“Such hostile military reconnaissance acts, along with various military exercises, are the main cause of military tensions in the region. Recently, there has been a lot of despicable psychological conspiracy in South Korea to release leaflets and various dirty goods in our border area.”

Kim said the number of maritime border violations was also increasing: “Various ships of the Korean puppet navy and marine police are increasingly violating our maritime border line. Frequent maritime border violations will have dangerous consequences. We have already warned that we can take the necessary military measures to protect our sovereignty and security.”

“On the 24th, our supreme military leadership pointed out that the army should take an offensive response to the enemy’s provocative actions against the sovereignty of our country.”

Kim said the North will respond directly to frequent leaflets and “garbage” being released in the border area.

“When national sovereignty, security and interests are violated, we will act immediately,” he added. “We will never tolerate hostile acts that violate the sacred sovereignty of the state.”
