Japan, Jordan discuss collaborative battle against COVID-19

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein discussed efforts in the global battle against the novel coronavirus pandemic in a telephone call April 23, according to Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two leaders expressed a similar view in their efforts to continue a close collaboration to prevent the spread of COVID-19, in addition to reinforcing the Japan-Jordan strategic partnership.

According to MOFA, Abe explained the efforts taken in Japan against the virus, while voicing his intention to cooperate with Jordan in battling the spread of the disease and looming economic challenges.

King Abdullah II said he appreciated Japan’s support, while Abe expressed his respect for King Abdullah II’s leadership.
