TOKYO: WAKAMIYA Kenji, the ruling Liberal Democratic Party’s Foreign Affairs Research Council Chairman, held a meeting with the ambassadors of the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) states to Japan on Friday to discuss the situation in Iran and exchange views on various matters, including energy resources.
The meeting at LDP headquarters was chaired by LDP Policy Research Council Chairman KOBAYASHI Takayuki.

The ambassadors represented Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman,, Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.
The meeting was described as “very productive” and extended well beyond the allotted time. The negotiations between Iran and the United States were discussed, as well as ways to try and reduce tensions in the region and the strengthening of future Japan-GCC relations.
