TOKYO: Japan’s Prime Minister TAKAICHI Sanae is ​considering meeting India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi early July in Assam, the northeastern Indian state where ‌a semiconductor plant ‌is ​under ‌construction, ⁠broadcaster ​TV Asahi reported ⁠on Thursday.

Following their last meeting at the G20 Summit in November, Takaichi ⁠and Modi are ‌expected ‌to discuss ​economic ‌and security cooperation, with ‌an eye on China’s growing assertiveness, TV Asahi said.

Takaichi will make ‌a final decision on the ⁠India ⁠visit considering her planned attendance at the July 7-8 NATO Summit in Turkey and Japanese parliamentary schedules, according to the broadcaster.
