Japan condemns attacks at Kabul University, pledges solidarity with Afghanistan

TOKYO: Japan “strongly condemned” the series of recent terrorist attacks in Afghanistan, including the attack that targeted Kabul University on Nov. 2 and called on all the concerned parties for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire.

The statement said Japan extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families for the loss of their loved ones, and prays for the swift recovery of those who were injured.

 A statement issued by the foreign ministry in Tokyo today said Japan is deeply concerned about the escalation of violence in parts of Afghanistan, as Afghanistan peace negotiations started in September. 

Japan confirmed its strong solidarity with the government and the people of Afghanistan and pledged that, in close collaboration with the international community, it will continue to cooperate for peace and stability in Afghanistan.
