TOKYO: Japan will host the Tokyo Nutrition for Growth (N4G) Summit 2021 on Dec. 7 and 8 in a hybrid format that combines on-site and online participation from Japan and completely online participation from overseas. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi, Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Shigeyuki Goto and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Genjiro Kaneko will attend the Summit.

Other participants will include governments, international organizations, private companies, civil societies and academic institutions from over 80 countries. 

The participating stakeholders will discuss the direction of the international community to improve nutrition, focusing on the following five thematic areas: health, food, resilience, accountability and financing.

The Summit will focus on the escalation of the double burden of malnutrition and over-nutrition, which causes lifestyle related diseases, as well as the impact of COVID-19.
