GAZA CITY: A delegation from the United Nations humanitarian office has praised Saudi Arabia’s relief operations in Gaza after visiting projects run by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, Saudi state news agency SPA reported on Monday.

The delegation from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) toured KSrelief facilities and aid distribution sites across the enclave as humanitarian conditions continue to deteriorate amid the ongoing conflict.

According to SPA, OCHA officials commended the scale and diversity of the Saudi-funded operations, as well as the efficiency of relief delivery mechanisms targeting displaced and vulnerable Palestinians.

The delegation began its visit at KSrelief’s central kitchen in Gaza, which prepares around 25,000 hot meals daily for families living in displacement camps.

Officials observed food preparation, packaging and distribution processes carried out in coordination with the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, KSrelief’s implementing partner in Gaza.

The tour also included visits to food basket distribution points where aid workers are overseeing deliveries to families across different parts of the territory.

The visit came days after a new KSrelief humanitarian convoy entered Gaza as part of a Saudi fundraising campaign aimed at boosting food security and easing shortages caused by the conflict, SPA reported last week.

Saudi Arabia has expanded its humanitarian operations in Gaza over the past year through KSrelief, including food assistance, emergency relief and water infrastructure projects.

In October 2025, KSrelief inaugurated the first phase of a desalination initiative designed to provide clean drinking water to about 300,000 people in Khan Younis and central Gaza.

Representatives from UN agencies including OCHA, UNRWA, UNICEF and UNDP attended the launch of the desalination project and praised its contribution to improving water and sanitation services in the enclave.

The latest OCHA visit highlighted growing coordination between Saudi aid agencies and international humanitarian organizations working in Gaza as relief groups warn of worsening shortages of food, clean water and basic services.
