RIYADH: Saudi forces have busted a drug smuggling ring, seizing a massive haul of more than 20 million amphetamine tablets inside a grapefruit shipment, state news agency, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.
General Directorate of Narcotics Control spokesman, Captain Mohammed bin Khaled Al-Najidi, said security officials monitoring activities of criminal networks, in coordination with the General Customs Authority, thwarted an attempt to smuggle 20,190,500 pills through the Jeddah Islamic Port.
He said eight people were arrested – two Saudi citizens and six residents.
