  • KSrelief aims to distribute 5,514 food baskets in 31 different cities in Albania benefiting 27,570 individuals

TIRANA: The Saudi Ramadan “Eta’am” initiative aims to distribute 156,993 food baskets weighing 8,430 tons in 19 countries, benefiting more than 900,000 individuals, during the holy month of Ramadan.

The initiative is part of the relief and humanitarian projects being implemented by the Kingdom, represented by KSrelief, to many needy and affected countries.

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, in cooperation with the Albanian Islamic Sheikhdom, launched a Ramadan food basket distribution project in Albania.

The launch was attended by Saudi Deputy Ambassador to Albania Abdullah Al-Shehri, President of the Albanian Islamic Sheikhdom Sheikh Bujar Sepahiu, Grand Mufti of Albania Sheikh Sina Lachini, a team from KSrelief and a number of Albanian officials.

The project aims to distribute 5,514 food baskets in 31 different cities in Albania benefiting 27,570 individuals.

KSrelief distributed more than 13 tons of Ramadan food baskets in the city of Ferizaj in Kosovo, benefiting 220 families.

It launched the project in the Tajik capital, Dushanbe. It aims to distribute 9,625 food baskets, which will benefit 51,400 people in a number of areas.

It also distributed 1,000 Ramadan food baskets in various regions of the capital of Niger, including basic food items sufficient for one family for a month, benefiting 5,000 individuals.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the religious attache at the Kingdom’s Embassy in South Africa, launched a program to distribute the gift of King Salman to fasting people.

The event was held in the presence of Saudi Ambassador to South Africa Sultan bin Abdullah Al-Anqari and a number of officials and preachers.

The program aims to distribute 2,500 food baskets and 11 tons of dates to needy families in South Africa and neighboring countries covered by the religious attache throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
