Abe to talk with UAE Crown Prince

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will visit Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on a government-plane on Monday afternoon and meet with Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed at the Presidential Palace.

UAE participates in the US-led Marine Security Initiative" with Saudi Arabia and others in Hormuz strait. 

The Japanese prime minister wants to share the importance of diplomatic solutions to stabilize the situation in the Middle East.

Around one-quarter of Japan's crude oil imports comes from UAE a country with which japan has strong economic links, Abe and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed are expected to agree on increased cooperation in economic, cultural and environmental fields.

The UAE has territorial disputes with Iran and is known for its close relations with Saudi Arabia, which is in opposition to Iran.
