ABU DHABI: Japan Oil Development Co. (JODCO) brought true Japanese essence to Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX), which took place from September 2 – 8.

JODCO is the Abu Dhabi sector of Japan’s largest oil and gas company, Inpex. The company participated in this year’s ADIHEX, presenting traditional showpieces such as falconry equipment, tea ceremonies, and musical performances.

OKI Harue, professor of the Japanese art of flower arrangement, Ikebana, shared that this is JODCO’s third time at ADIHEX. “It is always a great honor to be a Japanese traditional artist…and to meet these people annually,” she said.

Kyle Kamal Helou, Middle East Director of  Japan Karate Shoto Federation and holder of the Shihan license of the Japanese traditional musical instrument Shakuhachi, said the event was a cultural exposition and a celebration of life.

“I was really very pleased to see so much interest in Japanese cultural and traditional arts, crafts, and music. The people passing by the booth were truly able to capture the essence of Japan, which I believe was exquisitely presented by all artists from all disciplines. It was truly a privilege and an honor to take part,” he said.
