DUBAI: ‘Work and Fun Global Trading,’ a new Japanese trading company in Dubai that specializes in providing one-stop solutions to the various problems associated with overseas expansion, has organized a special Japanese food fair at Sushi Samba restaurant, featuring various kinds of sushi and cold Japanese teas. 

Makiko Hosokawa, CEO of the trading company, discussed the event exclusively with Arab News Japan, saying, “The location of Sushi Samba was important to us because the scenery was the best. We were very pleased to get positive feedback from the people who came and tried our products at our food fair.”

Regarding the company’s upcoming activities, Hosokawa shared that they are interested in introducing more Japanese products to Dubai. “I think it’s a shame that the charm of Japan has not yet reached here. I’m currently a supplier, but I would like to open a showroom or grocery shop here,” she said. 

Hosokawa shared the story of the company’s establishment, saying, “I came to Dubai for the first time in 2016, and there were not many Japanese products here. Since then, I have learned many things, such as the difficulties of importing products in Dubai and the difficulties of registering products.”

“However, I felt there was potential in the fact that there are many good things in Japan that are not found in the Middle East. I’m here with the intention of selling my company in Japan and burying my bones in Dubai. However, in Dubai, you can’t start doing business unless you try a product or try a product. This event was the first step. We will start by having as many people as possible participate and learn about the great things about Japan. In the future, we would like to open a shop and create a place where even more people can learn about the goodness of Japan, Japanese products, and information about Japan,” she added.
