DUBAI: Sanrio is collaborating with Bandi-owned Japanese manufacturer MegaHouse to release a Hello Kitty Rubik’s Cube in October to celebrate the iconic character’s 50th anniversary.
The Rubik’s Cube will showcase various designs of Hello Kitty, ranging from 1974 to 2024. The Rubik’s Cube logo is decorated with Hello Kitty’s bow in the center.
Unlike regular Rubik’s Cubes, the Hello Kitty Rubik’s Cube cannot be solved as there are no matching faces. However, the squares can be arranged chronologically, according to each era.
The collaboration also celebrates Rubik’s Cube’s 50th anniversary, as it was established in 1974 by Erno Rubik.
The cube will be available in Japan in late October for 5,500 yen.
