After 25 years since its original release, Japan’s renowned video game company Sega announced that ‘Crazy Taxi’ will be getting a massive reboot.

The game’s developers shared that the reboot will turn the arcade game into an open-world multiplayer game.

The game’s setting will also get an upgrade, as the developers hinted at creating a theme park inspired by the United States’ West Coast.

Kenji Kanno, one of the game’s producers, said on Sega’s YouTube channel that the goal of the reboot is to maintain the game’s original entries while incorporating multiplayer online (MMO) elements.

The Japanese game company hinted at the reboot during the 2023 Game Awards. A release date for the game has not been announced yet.

Released in 1999, the game allows players to play as a taxi driver who must drive the passengers to their destination.
