DUBAI: Janat Tea Paris’ owner Machiko Gozen recently launched the Tea Guild UAE – an initiative that is “poised to revolutionize the tea industry.”

Gozen initiated the project with the Femmes du Monde Foundation with a purpose to introduce the mindful and unique experience of afternoon tea to guests.

The Tea Guild operates by selecting a “best afternoon tea experience” every year, chosen by a team of experts led by Japanese Tea Journalist and Food Critic, Mayumi Satoi.

The initiative aims to inspire the hospitality industry and “infuse excellence and focus on perfect service.”

The Tea Guild is collaborating with the hotels and restaurants who serve as afternoon tea venues. It is also educating hospitality key leaders in the UAE by hosting unique tea events, tea training and promoting afternoon tea to the local community.

Gozen, who is a 13th-generation Samurai woman, said that she believed tea “has the magic to inspire humans into goodness and to create a postage transformation in guests experiences.”

She stated that her mission was to “to inspire kindness and mindfulness over each cup of tea.”

The Tea Guild aims to serve as a new platform of engagement and connection in the tea industry and giving hospitality leaders the chance to promote tea culture, tasting and exploration.
