
TOKYO: The Palestinian Embassy in Tokyo put on an embroidery workshop and small bazaar on Saturday afternoon called “Stitch for Palestine” to raise funds for Palestinians suffering in Gaza.
The event was staged in collaboration with the founder of the Palestinian Embroidery Obi Project.
Japanese and non-Japanese people visited the Embassy to participate in the embroidery workshop.
At the event, visitors could buy a shawl pins or broaches (3,000yen), embroidery frames (3,000 yen) and silk kimono collars (5,000 yen).
The bazaar featured food such as falafel, Palestinian olive oil and handicrafts, including Palestinian scarfs and traditional knitted bags of the type that have been used in Palestine for centuries.
