TOKYO: Kuwait celebrated its National Day at the Osaka-Kansai Expo with a celebration that delighted the audience for its cultural authenticity.  It started with a parade featuring more than 100 participants dressed in traditional costumes, accompanied by lively music and performances.

The event was attended by Kuwait’s Ambassador to Japan, Sami Al-Zamanan, Salem Al-Watyan, Commissioner-General of the Kuwait Pavilion, ITO Yoshitaka, Minister in Charge of the Expo, and HANEDA Koji, Commissioner General of the 2025 World Exposition in Japan.

The official ceremony was held in the National Day Hall at the Expo site, with a segment titled “The Lighthouse of the Future Show.” It offered an immersive experience, combining visual storytelling and harmonious sound effects that depicted Kuwait’s transformation from its rich cultural heritage to its future goals.

The intent of the National Day celebrations, said Salem Al-Wattan, Commissioner General of the Kuwait Pavilion, was to reflect the spirit of Kuwait. “It is a moment to honor our heritage and share our aspirations for a future based on progress, partnership and innovation.” He added that Expo 2025 Osaka provided an opportunity to connect with the world.

Later, guests were invited to the Kuwait Pavilion to enjoy a traditional folklore show, followed by an evening light show that illuminated the pavilion’s unique facade.

Since its opening, the Kuwait Pavilion has proven to be one of the most popular pavilions at Expo 2025 Osaka. The Pavilion is striking in terms of architectural design and rich content with a central dome serving as a symbol that connects past, present and future.
