
TOKYO: Casio Computer on Tuesday announced a collaboration with the Web3 metaverse gaming platform The Sandbox as part of the VIRTUAL G-SHOCK project involving the G-SHOCK brand of shock-resistant watches.
From September 3, game content offering experiences of the G-SHOCK worldview will be made available, along with limited-edition non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and avatars.
The VIRTUAL G-SHOCK project was launched in 2023 as part of the brand’s commitment to exploring the potential of shock-resistant watches. The project offers new user experiences, including content creation and community building, with a focus on NFTs and the metaverse.
G-SHOCK City – a game space offering experiences of the G-SHOCK worldview to users free of charge – will be made available on the Web3 metaverse gaming platform The Sandbox, and limited-edition NFTs will be sold.
This will bring opportunities to learn about G-SHOCK history in an adventure-game format and enjoy survival races based on a shock-resistance testing theme. In addition, avatars and NFT items with G-SHOCK motifs will be available for purchase.
