
Nintendo has increased the prices of its original Switch lineup, including the first-generation Switch, Switch OLED, and Switch Lite. citing “market conditions” as the reason.
Effective August 3, the standard Switch now costs $339.99 USD, up from $299.99. The Switch OLED rises from $349.99 to $399.99, while the Switch Lite sees a bump from $199.99 to $229.99.
“The pricing for the original Nintendo Switch™ family of systems and products will change in the United States based on market conditions,” Nintendo said in a statement.
The move comes after new tariffs on Vietnamese imports were introduced by President Donald Trump. Vietnam is where Nintendo manufactures most of its consoles.
In addition to the console price hike, Nintendo confirmed that select accessories for the upcoming Switch 2, amiibo figures and the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo will also see price adjustments.
Prices for Nintendo Switch Online memberships, Switch 2 consoles, and physical or digital games remain unchanged. However, the company warned that further changes “may be necessary in the future.”
