The World Photography Organization announced the national award winners of the contest this week.

Al-Bugami is not the only winner in the Middle East. Photographers Abdelhamid Tahoun from Egypt, Naser Alomari from Kuwait and Dubai-based artist Mireia Vilaplana have also been awarded.

More than 330,000 images were submitted for the contest, of which about 165,000 were entered in the Open competition — from which the national awards shots were selected.

Besides the global exposure, the winners will receive a Sony digital imaging kit.

The program has rewarded more than 500 photographers and currently operates in 51 countries.
