Fast food chain Taco Bell in Japan are advertising their new menu offering, the Nacho Fries, using a unique promotional technique—an anime.

The mini anime features central protagonist, Rei—a mecha otherwise known as a human-controlled robot—who tragically loses her brother to dangerous creatures only to find out that he’s alive and controls them.

The monsters are drawn to the Taco Bell fries, and cause havoc by attacking people to get the fast-food item.

The anime begins with a group of youngsters on the beach, until a monster emerges from the water and attempts to grab the fries until it is stopped by the Fry Force.

In the commercial Rei says how “every time nacho fries came back, that warm nacho cheese sauce was drawing something closer to the surface.”

The one-minute anime concludes with a series of fight scenes illustrating the world in chaos.
