DelMonico Books and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures have published a 288 page book titled Hayao Miyazaki in collaboration with Studio Ghibli priced at $45 USD (4,946.80 yen).
The book can be found at retailers including Artbook, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble, giving Studio Ghibli fans easy access to Miyazaki’s creative process for the films.
The book includes a compilation of illustrations, character designs, backgrounds, and storyboards from many of his famous films including My Neighbour Totoro (1988), Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989), Princess Mononoke (1997), Spirited Away (2001) and Howl’s Moving Castle (2004).
DelMonico Books describes the book as a “richly illustrated journey through the extraordinary cinematic worlds of beloved filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki.”
Their official website also outlines how “Miyazaki has influenced generations of artists. The universal appeal of his evocative natural settings and complex characters, many among them strong girls and young women, cuts across cultural boundaries.”
