USJ unveils image of Nintendo attraction area

Osaka

Universal Studios Japan has unveiled an image of Super Nintendo World, a new attraction area it aims to open ahead of the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

With facilities linked to popular characters of Nintendo Co. video games, the area reproduces the world of the games. The area image was released Thursday.

In 2016, USJ LLC, the operator of the theme park in Osaka, western Japan, announced a plan to develop the new entertainment area, featuring attractions and restaurants related to Nintendo's Mario Kart game series. Details are not decided yet.

USJ hopes to highlight the appeal of the new area in order to attract more visitors.
