
DUBAI: The Literary Club in Riyadh will be hosting the 13th Japanese public speaking contest organized by the embassy of Japan in Saudi Arabia and in collaboration with the ministry of culture on March 17th.
The applications to participate in the contest are opened until March 5th with a few rules and regulations; applicants cannot be native Japanese speakers, must be Saudi residents or if any other nationality, the candidate must have at least 5 years of residency in Saudi Arabia, must have studied or currently studying Japanese, and if the applicant is residing in Japan, the stay should not exceed 5 years.
Every participant will be put in either the beginner or the advanced category based on their fluency in Japanese.
There will be the option to choose between the two themes that are offered, which are bonds or challenge.
This will act as a great opportunity for giving Japan and the Japanese culture great exposure in Saudi Arabia and among the Arab world as well as solidifying bilateral relations between the two countries.
