The Japanese video game company Sega has announced that the revamped version of Sonic the Hedgehog game titled “Sonic Superstars” will be released this fall.

The fully revamped version of Sonic the Hedgehog was announced during Summer Game fest on June 8, which was when the official trailer was showcased.

The trailer showcases the hedgehog going from 1991 to 2023 and vice versa to let the viewers compare the similarities and differences between the two games. The game promises that “new powers and abilities” will be included as well as brand new characters.

The game will feature beloved characters such as, Amy Rose, Tails and Knuckles, and Fang the Sniper.  

Naoto Oshimota, the original creator of Sonic the Hedgehog, will be making a comeback to design some parts of the game.

The brand-new game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
