Tokyo, Abu Dhabi sign sustainability MoU

DUBAI: The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Abu Dhabi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreeing to engage in practical exchange and cooperation in areas of digital transformation, sustainability and climate change mitigation, urban planning and other areas.

Tokyo Governor KOIKE Yuriko and Chairman of Department Of Municipalities & Transport Abu Dhabi Mohamed AlSharfa both signed the MoU on Nov. 30.

Both cities designated the International Affairs Division, Office of the Governor for Policy Planning, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport, in exercising its function and powers as a local authority, as the departments responsible for facilitating execution of this MoU.

A statement said that the responsible departments will provide support to their cities’ departments charged with implementing policies in each of the areas covered by the MoU.
