TOKYO: The 7th Ministerial Meeting of the Japan-Saudi Vision 2030 was held in Riyadh today and was attended by SAITO Ken, Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry, FUKAZAWA Yoichi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, and other officials from the Japanese side, the Foreign Ministry in Tokyo said in a statement.

Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, Minister of Investment, and others attended from the Saudi side. 

In the meeting, both sides reviewed the progress in cooperation between Japan and Saudi Arabia since the 6th Ministerial Meeting held in November 2022 and exchanged views on the future direction of cooperation. 

According to the statement, Parliamentary Vice Minister Fukazawa expressed his respect for the efforts of both the Japanese and Saudi sides towards materializing projects in a wide range of cooperation areas, as concurred between the leaders of both countries.

Furthermore, Fukazawa introduced efforts that the Foreign Ministry in Tokyo is promoting, in cooperation with relevant ministries and agencies, about the “Japan-Saudi Vision 2030” framework in the fields of people-to-people exchange, culture, sports, education, and research. 

Fukazawa also stated that he seeks to strengthen Japan-Saudi Arabia relations further towards the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations in 2025.
