Toyota Motor Corp. reported on Wednesday to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism that they will recall 27,622 Toyota Yaris that were manufactured from December 2019 to April 2020 due to some trouble in the engine control system.

According to the ministry, there is a risk that the vibration during idling will be falsely detected as speeding up, the warning light will be turned on, and the skid prevention device will be inactivated. So far 22 cases have been reported.

In addition, the company reported to the ministry that it will implement measures for improvement for 78,292 cars (4 types including Corolla). There is a risk that a driver may not be able to correctly check the seatbelt wearing condition in the back seat.

Other target vehicles are "Corolla Touring", "Yaris" and "JPN TAXI", which were manufactured from July 2019 to March 2020. No defects have been reported.
