TOKYO: Japan Airlines on Wednesday reported a consolidated net loss of 128,322 million yen for April-December last year, smaller than the year-before loss of 212,722 million yen.
ANA Holdings Inc., the parent of JAL rival All Nippon Airways, saw its consolidated net loss for April-December fall to one-third of its year-before loss, according to a financial report announced Tuesday.
The smaller net losses at both airlines reflected a recovery in domestic passenger flight demand and robust freight revenue.
JAL’s total revenue for the first three quarters of fiscal 2021 grew 39.8 pct from a year before to 498,480 million yen.
The airline kept its full-year estimates unchanged, bracing for a group net loss of 146 billion yen.
