
Tokyo ended higher Friday, led by rises in tech-related shares after gains in the US Nasdaq index, while investors awaited Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s speech later in the day.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index added 0.57 percent, or 162.37 points, to 28,641.38, while the broader Topix index rose 0.15 percent, or 2.99 points, to 1,979.59.
