DUBAI: GITEX GLOBAL, the biggest technology show hosted by the UAE this month, features 5,000 companies over 2 million sq ft. of exhibition space at the Dubai World Trade Center.
Turning into the world’s digital hub from 10-14 Oct., Dubai takes on the challenge of bringing together the world’s most advanced technologies as well as world class creative minds to deep dive in the formation of the Web 3.0 economy.
This is the largest GITEX edition, with 26 halls, 7 multi-tech themes experimenting in the metaverse, and a 25 percent year-on-year increase.
The director of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), YAMAMURA Chiharu said about their participation at GITEX GLOBAL 2022 that “JETRO has been organizing the JAPAN PAVILION at GITEX North Star since 2016.
For this year, on our 7th year participation, we are bringing another batch of amazing Japanese startups – 17 Innovators with unique cutting-edge technologies from various fields such as AI, Agri tech, healthcare, education, fintech, environment, energy & clean tech, space tech, and many more”.
This year marks 50 years of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Japan making GITEX a special gateway to maintain and enhance bilateral relations.
Yamumra also mentioned that Japan is looking forward to cooperating with all Middle Eastern countries brining 17 Japanese innovators, with 7 repeating participants, that will change the course of the region saying, “As Japan and UAE commemorates its 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations establishment, Japan is looking forward to work closely not only with UAE but the rest of the Middle East countries in the next 50 years. We are strongly confident that the state-of-the art technologies of our 17 Japanese Innovators participating at North Star 2022 could contribute a lot in helping this region achieve its goals in all aspects.”
Minister of State for AI, Digital Economy & Remote Work Applications, Omar Al Olama, delivered the welcome note at the GITEX press conference and said “GITEX this year is bigger than ever. It spans two million sq. ft. with over 5,000 exhibitors from more than 90 countries, which makes this truly the biggest tech show in the world. This year, my office has partnered with GITEX to ensure that we’re not just showcasing technology but inventing and developing technology.”
GITEX 2022 will act as a profound enabler of the UAE digital economy as well as accelerating many of its partners through connecting world-class creative minds and turning abstract thoughts into reality.
