TOKYO: The first meeting of a possible Japan-Israel Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) was held online on Tuesday.

The Japanese side was represented by TADA Masahiro Tada, Director of Middle East Division 1 in the Foreign Ministry’s Middle East and Africa Bureau, as well as various other officials from the public and private sectors.

Ophir Yosefi, Director of Bilateral Agreements Division in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry headed the Israeli side.

The two sides exchanged views on the scope of the joint research and an analysis of the bilateral economic relationship between Japan and Israel in addition to other matters.

They agreed to coordinate the specific schedule of the next meeting through diplomatic channels.
