ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship’s 15th edition will be held at Mubadala Arena from November 1 to 11.
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, the championship is welcoming more than 6,000 male and female players worldwide this year.
The championship has become a fan favorite throughout the years. Athletes look forward to participating in it to uplift their global rankings. Last year, around 5,000 athletes from all over the world participated in the 14th edition.
The UAE’s Zayed Al Kathiri made history by becoming the first-ever blackbelt holder to win a gold at the championship. Moreover, the UAE athletes won nine medals in the Professional category competitions, including a gold medal, a bronze medal, and seven silver medals.
The UAE’s national team has won eight medals this month at the JJIF Youth World Championship in Kazakhstan.
