DUBAI: DC Comics’ latest movie Blue Beetle premiered on August 23, making it the first DC movie to have an Arabic dubbed version in Middle Eastern cinemas.
Currently achieving the highest rating on Rotten Tomatoes for a DC movie this year, the film follows the story of the Mexican American protagonist Jamie Reyes as he becomes the superhero known as Blue Beetle.
The movie’s dubbed version will only be available in the Egyptian Arabic dialect.
The Vox Cinema premiere at Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates was organized by Warner Bros. Middle East with the support of Geekay Games, PUBG Mobile, and other partners.
“There’s humor, heart, and emotion without the stakes being the end of the world like every other superhero movie. It’s a charming adventure,” said Faisal Hashmi, a film director, about the movie.
Sharing his feedback about the movie, digital creator Bibi Zumot said, “I think the movie was really light-hearted and funny; the storyline was nice; and I enjoyed the number of plot twists and puns.”
