Ras Al Khaimah: Sakura Japan Sweets, a Japanese restaurant and café that serves tasty Japanese food and desserts made with raw ingredients farmed in the UAE, has successfully opened a new branch in Ras Al Khaimah.
The opening ceremony featured a variety of esteemed guests, such as Imanishi Jun, Senior Officer of Japan in Dubai, and Mohammed Hasan Al Shamsi Al Awadhi, Member of the Board of Directors of Date Palm Friends Society.
“We have opened this new branch inside the city of Ras Al Khaimah city where people can visit us and experience our tasty beverages and special food, which are made freshly inside our kitchen unlike our other branch in Abu Dhabi,” Michyo Chiba, founder and owner of Sakura Japan Sweets told Arab News Japan exclusively.
She shared that the main purpose of the restaurant is to promote healthy living with balanced food, not just serving authentic Japanese food to expats and locals.
The chefs at Ras Al Khaimah will also use fresh ingredients produced on UAE farms to support farmers and local products.
For their signature dish, Iced Dates Cheesecake, the restaurant uses fresh dairy that is mainly produced in Ras Al Khaimah, in addition to adding a Japanese taste and style to the dish.
The Japanese café is also serving a variety of dishes such as Maki Sushi, Takoyaki, Kinako Mochi, and Matcha Pound Cake. Prices start at ¥481.38.
The café aspires to collaborate with the UAE public and private sectors as well as the Japanese community to further promote Japanese culture and food.
The Ras Al Khaimah branch is located at Al Nakheel RAK. The Abu Dhabi branch, called Ocha Cafe Sakura, is located at Galleria Mall at Kinokuniya Bookstore.
